Airmini CPAP Adapter

I needed a way to connect a proprietary hose fitting to a standard CPAP fitting. The connector has a lot of small parts in the 0.1 to 0.4mm feature size and needs to be reasonable airtight.

I used calipers to measure the dimensions I needed and modeled the part in OnShape:

On my first print, I did 2 degree tilts in the X and Y axes and used auto supports in Formware:

This printed out fine using the default settings for Green resin, but I accidentally broke the part.

Turns out that I don’t need quite so many supports, even for the overhang, because well-connected overhangs can print without support. So I printed again using a less aggressive support strategy, with supports only on the bottom edge and no tilt angle:

This printed out great and fits like a charm. Again, I’m pretty blown away at the dimensional accuracy of the resin:

Hi! Is there any way you can share your drawings with me?

Steven

Looks great James! Wasn’t sure you were still printing much on the Titan.

Sure, I used the free version of OnShape, so all designs are public. Just search “airmini” in Public, or go to https://cad.onshape.com/documents/32fe09f2798f0684741f9ea1/w/2621e51338adf12e7b785b86/e/00d9bc94b866bb8539671f59
